MOVEMENT AND LIGHT

Celebrating Ten Years of Studio Glass

Celebrating its tenth anniversary as a group of emerging and internationally renowned glass artists, Just Glass presents a stimulating exhibition of the best of studio glass from its membership, including work from International

Festival of Glass Biennale Winners: Max Jacquard (2006) and Tracy Nicholls

(2008).

The show focuses on the complex and symbiotic relationship between movement and light, captured in glass as it can be in no other medium. Use of form, texture and colour come together to embody an amazing fluidity and luminosity.

Just Glass’ members’ work comes in many forms and dimensions and draws on a range of glass-making techniques, designed for a multitude of uses. The show makes a strong statement about the fundamental aesthetics of our chosen material. During the exhibition there will be demonstrations and gallery talks by the artists.

Participating Artists Include: Alison Allum, Alex Archbold, Kirsty Brooks, Phillipa Candy,

This Story Has No Name

Short story

If she knew she was going to die now, she’d have lived more carefully. Lived more cynically, perhaps. More precisely. She’d have loved more, hated more, taken more. She’s here now though, right here, right now, exhaling stolen breaths…

Fantastic writing

It would be so easy just to slip,

A pill, a sip, a pill, a sip.

Until oblivion.

I cannot feel my skin, my bones…just pain and tears and misplaced fears and I quickly swallow them away.

A sip, a pill and that’s my fill.

I’m all better now.

I hear from time to time that motor bikes are dangerous. The truth is that riding a motorbike can be hazardous, but it is my opinion that it is not the bikers themselves, it’s other road users in the vast majority of biking related incidents on the roads. Here’s how:

I passed my…

Anyone who bothers to read this will remember that a couple of weeks ago I posted about Juniors Dad having cancer. His cancer (of the oesophagus) was found by chance when he was having treatment for a stomach ulcer.
My immediate reaction to this news was to look it up on the Internet (never a…

On a train. Again.

I am beyond bored of the routine of my life.

In many ways my life is constructed of nothing but sheer chaos. But always draped around the same timetable of inevitability.

Get up. Eat porridge. Drink tea. Throw handfuls of water at face. Brush teeth. Draw strategic lines on my…
